Situated along the eastern seaboard of Australia, and the Pacific Ocean, Forster is a thriving coastal community with natural sandy beaches that provide for premium swimming conditions, surfing, bodyboarding, exploring rockpools and superior sandcastle building.

Our coastline is visited by whales twice yearly as they migrate from Antarctica to warmer tropical waters, and again on their return voyage back to the Antartic, offering you the opportunity to see the newborn whale calves on their first sea journey. The whales are easily viewable breaching from the shoreline, or you can take a whale watching cruise to see them up close. Forster is also visited by wild dolphins. Visitors can also fish, either on the beach or by boat, and scuba diving is available as well.

There are plenty of activities for the kids in Forster, and not only the beach, surfing and swimming, Forster also boasts a local skate park, so bring your skateboards and rollerblades!

You can go canoeing or fishing or swimming on Forsters local lake, set in beautiful bushland surroundings where you will also find excellent walking tracks through natural bush with outstanding views.

The BellaVilla Motor Inn is located within a short walking distance of the main beach and the main street. You’ll find cafes and restaurants, boutique shopping, supermarkets and the like all within an easy walk.

The local pub is nearby, as is Club Forster which offers full club facilities including restaurants and entertainers.

For the sports minded, the beach has an excellent sand on which to run, or there is a gym nearby. For those who like to relax with a game of Golf, the local course is a must!

Forster also has a rich historical heritage and visitors can delve into this while visiting, or take a short walk to the tourist information centre for more.
